You may have seen an article in USA Today about a recent study which suggests increasing the cost of regular soft drinks and highlighting calorie content in places where they are sold would decrease sales, thus making people healthier.

We all know that people do not support taxes on common grocery items, like soft drinks, and they understand that taxes will do nothing to address obesity.  That's why the public policy debate has moved on from taxes and onto real solutions – many of which began under our industry’s leadership.
