Heading off to college is an exciting chapter in young people’s lives--selecting courses, meeting roommates and outfitting dorm rooms or apartments. Beyond the education, and the fun, it’s an important chapter in the journey to adult independence.
Before the fall semester starts and the stress of assignments and exams begins, now is great time to lay out a plan to maintain a balanced lifestyle. Remember that the key to maintaining a healthy weight is balancing calories consumed from all foods and beverages with those burned through physical activity.
Many college campuses offer great venues for walking, jogging, swimming, biking and playing team sports as well as no shortage of companions for those activities.
