Earlier this week, President Bill Clinton announced our newest initiative in which we’ve partnered with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation with a goal of reducing beverage calories consumed per person by 20 percent by 2025. This effort - the Balance Calories Initiative - is truly significant and we're proud of our industry working together with other stakeholders to help Americans achieve balance.
With this effort we will help consumers with our National Calorie Awareness Program – in which we’re adding calorie counts and promoting calorie awareness on all company-controlled point-of-sale equipment nationwide. This will impact more than 3 million vending machines, self-serve fountain dispensers, and retail coolers in convenience stores, restaurants and other locations. Consumers will be able to see these changes occur over the next two years.
