America’s beverage companies have a long track record of listening to and supporting our consumers. Through our work on the School Beverage Guidelines we reduced calories from beverages shipped to schools by 90 percent.  And most recently these companies set a goal to reduce beverage calories from sugar by 20 percent per person by 2025. Providing more beverage choices with little or no sugar at all and ramping up our efforts in communities where obesity rates are highest, like Montgomery, Ala., and the Mississippi Delta, are just some of the ways these companies are working to achieve this goal.
