The recent study by Tucker et al published in the October issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition claiming that cola drinks are linked to osteoporosis contains methodological flaws that make its conclusions questionable.

Calcium Intake Associated With Milk Consumption; Soft Drinks Not Linked to Decreased Calcium Intake

A new study by researchers at the Center for Food and Nutrition Policy (CFNP) at Virginia Tech published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition found that calcium intake among U.S. adolescents although inadequate, has remained a constant since the 1970s and does not appear to be linked to soft drink consumption.
