WASHINGTON, DC - The American Beverage Association (ABA), formerly the National Soft Drink Association, has re-acquired the beverage tradeshow, InterBev, from Reed Exhibitions, of Norwalk, CT.
The Association sold the show to Reed in 1999 and, after producing three shows together, Reed and the ABA jointly agreed to enter into negotiations to return InterBev to ABA. At its October 25, 2005 meeting in Boston, the ABA Board of Directors approved the plan to re-acquire the tradeshow and to schedule InterBev06 in the Fall of 2006 at a location in Las Vegas.
“ On behalf of Reed Exhibitions and its InterBev team, we’d like to thank the industry for its support over the past several years,” said Eileen Baird, vice president and show manager, InterBev. “We have been grateful for the relationships developed with customers and their ongoing feedback and industry insight in the years we’ve run the shows, especially from our sponsors, the American Beverage Association.”
“We are excited to have the opportunity to produce an event that will have strong appeal to both exhibitors and attendees,” said ABA President and CEO Susan Neely. “We look forward to providing industry stakeholders a gathering place to meet, discuss timely issues and see the latest products, and equipment that generate opportunities in today’s beverage marketplace.”
Ralph Crowley, Chairman of the ABA Board of Directors said, “The proposal by the ABA staff to re-acquire InterBev just made sense to the Board. We thank Reed for their partnership and support of our industry over the last several years. I encourage the broad range of beverage companies and our many suppliers to join together in making InterBev a valuable part of the beverage industry.”
