From providing information to being involved, we’re there for our consumers and communities. This is a very important element to our member companies’ daily operations. We believe that being dedicated to our consumers, our customers and our communities will helps us lead on meaningful solutions to complex societal issues that face all of us these days.
By providing more beverage options than ever before, especially in the no- and low-calorie variety, we are giving consumers more choice. And we’re empowering them to make the choices that are right for them and their families by placing clear calorie labels on the front of every bottle, can and pack we produce. We removed full-calorie sodas from schools and replaced them with more lower-calorie, smaller-portion options. All told, we cut calories available from beverages in schools by 90 percent, between 2004 and the end of the 2009-2010 school year. And in the broader marketplace, there has been a 23 percent reduction in the average calories per serving from beverages sold since 1998.
That’s real action. And, in short, we’re delivering.
