Crafts to Beat the Snow Day Blues

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve probably heard the reports that the East Coast is about to be hit by a big winter storm. That means only one thing – snow day!

Depending on your age group, this can be an exciting prospect or a dreaded exercise in keeping everyone entertained. Have no fear, Sip & Savor is here with a round-up of fun crafts using supplies from around your house.

Snow days are great for sharing family memories. This craft shows you how to make a time capsule using two plastic soda bottles. Imagine the fun opening it up on another snow day years from now!

Maybe your kids want to make a snow day friend without going out in the bitter cold. This craft makes a penguin using empty two liter bottles, hot glue and paint.

How about making a beautiful butterfly to remind you of warmer days? One plastic water bottle and nail polish and you have a gorgeous butterfly.

Have a fashionista in the house? A handful of pop-tops and a ribbon and you’re well on your way to a stylish bracelet.

No matter what you do, make sure to stay safe and warm!
